Meet Ashley Posey
Shepherdess. Cattlewoman. Attorney.
Ashley is a stockwoman and attorney whose work is rooted in a lifelong commitment to animals, agriculture, land stewardship, and rural communities. Her consulting philosophy is simple: practical solutions grounded in experience.
Ashley has managed livestock operations ranging from registered beef cattle to sheep to equine enterprises. She has managed the day-to-day operations of a 200-plus head seedstock cattle operation, overseeing herd health, nutrition, breeding programs, bull and heifer development, calving, marketing, and reproductive programs including artificial insemination, embryo transfer, oocyte recovery, semen collection, and donor programs.
Her experience with small ruminants stems from her role as manager of a 100-plus head Southdown sheep flock, including overseeing flock health, nutrition, breeding, lambing, shearing, and lamb development. She has also managed diverse equine operations, coordinating the care of drafts, light breeds, mules, and donkeys. Her equine experience includes breeding, broodmare/stallion management, foaling, and practical horsemanship – alongside a special interest in equine podiatry.
In addition to her agricultural background, Ashley brings years of experience helping businesses, nonprofits, and landowners navigate challenges. Her undergraduate business studies focused on strategic management consulting. This foundation, combined with her legal career and hands-on livestock and conservation experience, provides for an interdisciplinary approach to solving complex agricultural and operational concerns. She founded Ferm Consulting to provide practical, experience-driven guidance for livestock producers, landowners, and agricultural operations seeking thoughtful stewardship, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability.
Ashley believes the best solutions come from people who understand agriculture not only in theory, but from years of doing the work themselves.
